More spring cleaning! I found this tucked away in a pile of stuff. I guess I started it... yeesh, around last September. I couldn't remember why I abandoned it mid-painting, so I figured I'd put a couple more hours into it this afternoon and finish it up. The world could use some more baboons, anyway. ;]

I wished rafriki was a gelada instead of a weird hamadryas baboon-mandrill hybrid. If drawn together is rebooted, rafriki should be shown as sexist, winking at real baboon behavior. Still, baboons are actually not that dangerous, because they mostly eat plants despite looking like dogs. And even though infanticide is common, male-on-male fights are more about bravado than actually inflicting wounds. Enough of my ranting, geladas are still badass.
