This is the hunter's badge of glory:
That he protects and tends his quarry,
Hunts with honour, as is due,
And through the beast to God is true.
Jagermeister by ~screwbald is an amazing work of art. At first glance you may wonder why a buck would be hunting - but look closer - he's taking out the resident wolves in his forest. Everything about this piece pays homage to the beauty of nature and the careful balance between predator and prey. (

What an amazing piece of art! And the poem is a wonderful touch. Whenever I look up anthro art, I always see wolves in loincloths carrying bows and arrows, hunting deer, howling, and looking all 'majestic' and 'powerful' and 'hardcore.' Just because a deer is a herbivorous prey animal doesn't mean it can't be majestic and powerful and hardcore too!
I clicked on this because I like the liquor (heheh.. ) but I have to say this is an incredibly beautiful piece of art. While most anthro art is okay in my opinion I really am in awe of this character's design, and everything about the execution is just great (I ADORE the background! ). Really beautiful work.
Amazing! There's so much I like about this picture: 1) The lighting and detail 2) The dramatic pose 3) The character himself 4) The german-style lettering and reference to the poem 5) The association to the drink Jagermeister 6) And, of course, the certain black humour to the whole piece
